Why it matters

A voice keeps more than a line on paper.

Laughter, pauses, accents and the mood just after midnight never fit into handwriting. A classic audio guest book is a vintage phone you hire or buy. bleibt takes a different route: every guest uses the phone already in their pocket, so several messages can be recorded at once.

01 · Scan the QR code

One code on the table, at the bar or on the invite.

The QR code opens your guest page in the normal phone browser. Guests need no app and no account – they tap “Record a voice message”.

02 · Pick a prompt

A question to get them talking.

Guests see a prompt to start with, such as “What should we still hear from you in ten years?”. Add up to three questions of your own or use the ready-made ones.

03 · Record

Microphone on. Up to three minutes.

The browser only asks for the microphone after a tap. A calm hint appears shortly before the end, and recording stops after three minutes. If recording isn't available, guests can pick an existing audio file instead.

04 · Listen & send

Listen back first. Then retake or send.

Guests play their message back, record it again if they like and only then send it. Adding a name is optional. The voice appears in the album together with the question it answers.

A fair comparison

Hire a guest phone, buy one, or use a QR code?

A vintage guest phone is a lovely object at a party. bleibt is not a phone – it's a guest page in the phone browser. Both have strengths; here is how they differ.

What to say in an audio guest book

Good questions make good messages.

Many guests freeze when it's their turn to speak. A concrete question helps. 20 to 60 seconds is often enough – a small story lasts longer than a general congratulation.

Ready-made in the editor
  • What should we still hear from you in ten years?
  • What was your favourite moment today?
  • What do you wish for our future together?
  • Which story about us should we never forget?
  • Describe this day in three words.
  • Leave us something that will make us laugh later.
More ideas for your own questions
  • How did you meet us – and what was your first impression?
  • What's the best advice anyone ever gave you?
  • Which song should always remind us of today?
  • A small bet: where will we be in five years?
  • What do you wish the birthday person for the year ahead?
  • A message for the children or grandchildren to hear one day.
  • What will you take home from tonight?

Not just for weddings

Wherever voices would be missed later.

01

Weddings

Wishes, advice and the speech nobody wanted to give. The voices sit right next to the pictures of the day.

02

Birthdays

For a 30th, 60th or 80th: friends and family say what they would otherwise only write.

03

Anniversaries

A silver wedding or a company milestone: memories from people who have been there for years.

04

Farewells & work parties

Retirement, moving away or a team party: colleagues record a few words, even remotely if they get the link.

FAQ

The short answers.

What is an audio guest book?

An audio guest book collects spoken messages instead of written ones. Traditionally it's a vintage phone you hire or buy. With bleibt, guests scan a QR code and record on their own phone, right in the browser.

How do you use an audio guest book with a QR code?

Guests scan the code, tap “Record a voice message” and speak for up to three minutes. They listen back, retake if they like and send it. The message appears in your album.

How much does an audio guest book cost?

In UK results, guest phone hire typically costs about £89–£395 per event, and handsets to buy about £50–£200 (October 2026). With bleibt you design and test for free and unlock the album from €39 one-off, with no subscription – including photos, videos and voices.

Is an audio guest book worth it?

If voices matter to you, yes: a laugh or a toast says more than a line on paper. A QR audio guest book costs less than most hire phones and lets several guests record at once. A vintage phone is the better choice if you want a physical object or have no signal at the venue.

What should guests say in an audio guest book?

A short, personal story works better than a general congratulation: how they met you, a piece of advice or a moment from the day. Add your own prompts – up to three per album.

Who can hear the voice messages?

You decide per album. By default, voices can be heard by anyone with the album link. Alternatively, they stay private to you in album management.
